PS scales are made of die cast aluminum and designed to support a 300% static
overload. The platter support features a unique overload safety system to absorb
severe shock loads. The detachable display is enclosed in high-impact plastic,
and the Zero and Unit Switching keys are protected with a spill-proof polyester
overlay -- they're easy to see, easy to press, and take a pounding.
